Easter Friday

Look what was in Room 14 when I called in today.
At least one of us got to see all the beautiful butterflies.

I very carefully took them outside.

And put them on a tree.

Just amazing!!!

Sunflowers

In the school garden there is a beautiful sunflower growing.
We went had a look at it and then painted our own beautiful sunflowers.

Don't they look amazing!

 At morning tea time today our first butterfly hatched out.
 It was so exciting.
He flapped his wings all morning to dry them out.

                                    and then he was gone....









Now we are waiting for the rest to hatch but it is going to happen over Easter!

Holi Festival

Today to celebrate the Indian Holi festival, Suryansh's Mum made some gujayi for us to try. It was so delicious!! Thank you.

Earth Hour this Saturday at 8.30pm.

We joined our buddy class to make lanterns to use for
Earth Hour.

Room 14 is looking a bit smaller in this photo. We were a very small class this week,
 13 children were away with chicken pox!!!!!!

Caterpillar update

All our caterpillars have turned into chrysallis. We are waiting to see what will happen with them next.
But on the swan plant something interesting is happening, the seed pods are opening and seeds are floating down. We are gathering them and are going to plant them to see if we can grow some swan plants!

30 Day

Yesterday was our 30th day at school this year so for 30 day we got 30 matchbox toys for the classroom.

We are having
lots of fun playing with
them!!

Caterpillars update

We don't need to worry about having enough food for the caterpillars. This morning in Room 14, six  of the caterpillars were hanging upside down like "J"s, and three caterpillars were still munching their way around the swan plant. 3+6 = 9, Yes, we have another one. Tiger is the newly named member of the caterpillar family.

When we came in from morning tea the first one had turned into a chrysalis!

I wonder what we will find tomorrow morning?

The Caterpillars

They are now huge and have eaten half of the leaves on the swan plant. We thought there were 4, but there are 8. So as well as Dragonball Z, Cutey, Sparkle and Rainbow, we have Strongman, Star, Leaf and Muscle!!!

20 Day!!!

Yesterday was 20 day, we got 20 giant chalks for the class. They came in packs of 5, so we needed 4 packs to get 20.  5+5+5+5= 20

Since it was Sea Week we used the chalk to draw lots of sea creatures swimming in the sea.

So during Discovery time today we all learnt to play hopscotch. We have some very good hoppers in Room 14!!
