Alfie's cats visit

Alfie's mum, Amy, brought in their cats Wasabi and Popcorn.
They had a good look around Room 14.

Popcorn was keen to meet Goldie and Disco Ball our goldfish!

Boot Dance

This week it was our turn to present our learning at Hui.
Seeing as it is such gumboot weather we decided to do a boot dance.

We decorated our boots with stickers and ribbons.

Sitting in Hui, boots on and ready to dance .

Look what we got at Hui today.
The Enviro Award- we got it for gathering and growing swan plant seeds in Room 14.

Next week we are going to work with our buddy class, Room 5, to repot our little seedlings so we have plants ready to sell at the gala at the end of the year, and to plant in the school in spring so we can all see the caterpillars and butterflies.

We might grow some other seeds too. Any suggestions?

80 Day

For 80 day we decided to make a special Dinosaur Land with 80 dinosaurs.

We only had 33 dinosaurs in Room 14, how many more would we need?

We worked out that if we had 30 dinosaurs we would need 50 more dinosaurs.

So if we had 33, that is 3 more, so we would need 3 less than 50, which is 47.

33+47=80.

We now had 80 dinosaurs.
10+10+10+10+10+10+10+10=80

8 X 10 =80

Next we made the dinasaur land.

We used 80 blocks for the land.
80 blue shapes for the sea.
80 green popsicle sticks to make the trees.
80 beads for rocks.
80 greencounters for grass.
80 coloured counters for flowers.
