Everyday of school this year we have put a 10 cent coin in a jar. Today we had 190 coins which meant $19.00.
It was time for us to do something with the money.
We decided it would be nice to use our money to bless someone else.
At Kmart they have a wishing tree where you can leave presents for kids who don't get much at Christmas.
We decided to use our money to buy a book to leave under the tree.
Room 10 had $19.00 in their jar too, so we went shopping together. Macy, Alfie, Liam and Mrs Bloomfield from Room 14. Bonnie, Kamirah, Riley and Mrs Geluk from Room 10.
We looked at lots of books before we decided.
Alfie quite liked the Alfie books!
But in the end the girls decided on Goldilicous which Room 10 bought.
The boys chose The Waterhole which Room 14 bought.
The very nice lady at Paper Plus took all our 10 cent coins and counted them up.
This is what 190 ten cent coins looks like!
We read our book to check it was Ok. It was all about a waterhole and how important it is. It seemed a great book for us to give seeing we had been studying water this term.
We made some special wrapping paper to wrap our book in.
We hope our book makes someone very happy this Christmas.
Merry Christmas everyone, We hope you have a fabulous summer holiday.
Thanks for reading our blog this year.
Love from Room 14
