Hat challenge with our buddy class

What a great way to finish the term.
We had a hat challenge with our buddy class.

We were in teams of four or five. We had to make a hat that would stay on your head when you were skipping.
We were given newspaper, tape, stickers, coloured paper, feathers and cellophane to make a hat.
We had half an hour to complete our hat.

  These are the end results.

                              Don't they look amazing!
After the skipping test they were still on the heads. Well done everyone!

Blacko

This week our big book is "Let's See, Ling Lee."
It's about a girl who buys a goldfish for her classroom because they had two in their classroom and she had read that three goldfish were good luck.

We have two goldfish in our classroom, Goldie and Disco Ball.
We thought it would be exciting to get another one so that we had three goldfish for good luck.

So at lunchtime today Lily and Danielle walked down to the pet shop with Mrs Bloomfield to get us a new fish.

Here they are swimming in the tank.
                           Which one will they choose?

Lily and Danielle chose a black one.
The pet shop lady caught our fish with a little net.

She put our goldfish in a bag of water and we carried him carefully back to school.

We had to keep our fish in its bag, floating in the fish tank for 15 minutes before we could let him swim with the other fish.

In the tank!

We all had to decide what we would call our new fish.

In the end we all agreed to call our fish Blacko.

Welcome to Room 14 Blacko!

70 Day Our Taonga- treasures

This term the whole school have been looking at our treasures, our taonga.

So for 70 day the Junior syndicate decided to paint a big mural of 70 of our treasures. We had 70 square boards to paint them on.

There are 5 junior classes so each class had 14 boards to paint.

In Room 14 the treasures we have been looking at are our pets, so we painted fabulous pets.

Here are our fabulous pet paintings

The rest of the Junior School painted their family, their friends, their special toys, and their own special treasures. Here are our finished 70 treasures.
This weekend our 70 day mural is going to be hung up at school. I wonder where it will be?

Huckle

This is Huckle, Katie's dog.

He was very excited to come and see us.

Gareth, Katie's dad brought him in.

He was very cuddly, licky and soft.

We love meeting everyone's pets.

90 Day

For 90 day we collected 90 sticky dots.
We needed 18 groups of 5.
18 X 5 = 90

We used then to decorate our star of the day.

                                    The first 10 going on!

More!
